Confession Time

I watched the oscars last night.  I admit it.  I have always loved seeing the beautiful and not so beautiful gowns as all the “stars” are on the red carpet.  My favorite gowns were cate blanchet’s, reese witherspoon’s, and kate winslet’s.  How fun would it be to get pampered and all “glamoured” up?  I guess it would get old and rather annoying to have to do it all the time, but just once would be fun.  I think that my wedding day was my glamour day.  I loved getting pampered and just feeling so beautiful for the day!

The host, Ellen was funny.  I didn’t like the choir that came out in the beginning singing “hallelouia” to all the nominies.  That was a little messed up.  But, Rich and I did crack up laughing when Will Ferrel and Jack Black were singing.  So funny!

Super Bowl Sunday

We had a few people over last night for the super bowl.  It was a fun time.  I’m not really into football so I just sat and chatted with my friends who also aren’t huge football fans.  Everyone brought a yummy dish to share and we enjoyed homemade wings, tortilla soup, popcorn (3 different sweet kinds), and a big giant cookie.  After my friends left around 9:00 or so I went to sleep.  The game was still going and people were still here but I was just so tired!  Being a mommy is harrd work and I need my rest.  When I woke up this morning I was expecting to have to do some clean up because I knew that Rich was tired too.  To my delight, I was presented with a spotless kitchen, and living room.  Thank you Rich!  He is such a sweet and thoughtful husband.  I just love him so much!

Rich and I really haven’t had a large group over because our place is so small, but we realized that we can do it even though it would be a bit cozy.  It was lots of fun!  I think that maybe we will get a movie sometime and invite people over to watch it and then have dessert and tea/coffee afterwards.  That would be fun :)   Thanks God for blessing me and Rich with a home that can be used for your glory…no matter the size.  I’m so thankful for my home.

Freaky

I can’t believe that I forgot to write about this!  So Sunday after church, Rich and I put our girls down for a nap and I was about to leave to go grocery shop.  As I was tying my shoes I heard wierd music coming through my floor from the apartment below us.  I opened the door to hear better and what I heard totally freaked me out.  A song with the following lyrics: satan, satan (repeated a bunch of times followed by), messy, messy(also repeated a bunch of times).  What the heck???  So Rich and I listened for a moment to make sure we heard correctly and then Rich said, “well, I’m going to play worship music then”.  And he did just that.  So off to the store I went and I could not for the life of me get that awful “song” out of my head.  It was a really strange tune too.  I had to make up my own worship/prayer song in the car in order for it to leave my mind.  God is good and even now I cannot remember that freaky tune.

Okay, so now for freaky-ness #2:  we got a netflix dvd in the mail yesterday and after the girls went to sleep we popped popcorn, made a yummy cocktail to share, and then settled in to watch the movie.  Turns out I got a movie that had to do with exorcism like things.  What the heck!?  I hate scary and scaryish movies.  It was the Brothers Grimm…..I have no idea why I didn’t realize what it was about.  I think I looked at the genre and saw that it was sci-fi and fantasy….we like sci-fi.  Sigh.  So we turned it off and talked a while which was very nice.  But, the movie had an opening freaky scene that I had a hard time getting out of my mind.  I’m a very visual person and am affected a great deal by images….especially scary ones (and yes, I do know they are fake – but I still get freaked out).  So anyway, those are my two random freaky stories.

Lost

I’ve been watching Goodmorning America today and I just saw a comercial for Lost.  October 4th is the season premier, and I’m just so excited!  This is our favorite show and it will be nice to have our Wednesday night “date” again. :)
